Well since the first guy gave you an answer fit for monkeys I'll explain...
If you ride every weekend, then you'll probably want to change it once a month. If you ride occasionally throughout the year, just change it at the beginning of the riding season (spring) and at the end (fall). If you race, then change it every race. If in doubt, check the color of the oil. You can also do a search for "raptor" and "oil" in the body of the messages and you'll probably find what you're looking for. Ya know i have known a few Honda 300 4x4's from 90's that went hundereds of hours between oil changes. and bein ridden hard. and they ran like tops the whole time. Mind you i think thats an excessive duration but heck if your usin quality oil it dont go bad in a few rides. 3000 miles in my truck @20 mpg is roughly every 10 tanks of gas. how about that? i cant see the importance of anymore frequent.

I change my wolverine 3 times a year. 1 for winter riding which the oil is thicker to retain some of the heat so the engine does not run cold. then I change it in april to a lighter oil because it gets warm out againg and you want it to loose the heat as fast a possible. the in july because it's been realy used. then in november/december back to thick. so about every 4 months. if you go with synthetic you do not have to change it as offten. but make sure you get the right one.

I only changed the oil in my 01 rancher once, and that was because I submerged it and it was full of water. Still runs like a top, my cousin owns it.
But I take better care of the rap, after all its a yamaha, it needs it.
Every 20 hours of riding, every other race.
