Before the snorkel, just below the headlights was as deep as I would go....with snorkel, every once and a while I'll let the racks go under.

No, my griz isn't snorkled. The seals on the OEM snorkles are good and I have no trouble at all. I walk right through a lot of crap without the belt ever slipping.

well maddog excuse me for some mistakes in my thread and what i meant by my cousins 300 is better in water is because theres no belts to get wet or slip AND IM A VERY SKILLD RIDER IM 36 AND IV BEEN ON AN ATV SINCE I WAS LIKE 14 i know a guy that has a polaris 600 twin and his belt never spun but my did where we were riding it was like a pond it was some what larg but not that deep but deep enough to be past my belt housing what i was trying to say that if the polaris belts dont slip and mine do in the same amount of water there a prob. im just irate at the whole situation

I would seriously check out your snorkle clamps and see if one of them came loose. You may want to loosen the clamps and pull them off and then clean them really good and make sure that they are really well sealed. You may even want to use some water proof grease to lub them so they go on all the way. I would also pull the belt cover and make sure everything is perfect. There must be another problem, because we could come up with all kinds of people who haven't had a problem. There is only supposed to be two places for water to get in to the belt housing, and those are very close to seat height. Splashing will get it in their, but they are really well protected. You also might want to use some water proof grease on the drain plug to make sure it isn't getting in their. Let us know what you find. Maybe we can all learn from you troubles and how you fix the problem.
