I got a little over 20 hours on my rappy, I did an oil change and cleaned the filter around 20 hours. Now around maybe 25 hours and its running like ****, it won't idle and it misses every now and then. I changed the plug today and still the same thing, its hard to keep it idling, anyone have any suggestions?

Note: The bike is still stock, i havn't put anything on yet because i want it to run right first, do you think the valves need to get adjusted?

if you hear a "ticking" noise coming from around the head, then yes the valves need to be adjusted...

also its getting kinda cold out now.....you might just have to rejet.

Its still 50 degrees in jersey, when i got the bike it was 60-65 everyday so does that temp change make that big a difference? Also would the octane of the gas cause it to run rough?

The temp can change only a couple of degrees and it can throw the jetting off. However usually you want to have your valves adjusted after 30 or so hours on a new motor.
If your octane was to low then you would hear a knock or ping sound coming from the engine. I would take it back to the dealer and just get them to check everything over now that you have some hours on it. The dealer here always tells people to bring their quad/bike back after 30-50 hours to get the valves adjusted, oil change, and all the other regular maintance that should be done on a new motor.

All those things will effect how an engine runs, but on a stock machine it shouldnt make it sh1tty unless its really out of whack. The valves would be very noticable if they were lose enough to cause a problem, and would be almost silent if they were too tight.

A little trick you can use to check on the jetting being too lean (yes our recent local temps in NJ have dropped enough to cause a need for 1-2 sizes up if your really serious about your jetting) is to move the choke slowly till it would make it run better. This richens the mix and if it runs worse then its most likely not lean.

I know that yami changed this model some since it was the warrior but I know the one I had was able to go thru all the seasons without much change in performance and didnt have to make any jetting changes, but they would have kept it running a little better.

So I am thinking your problems are coming from someware else but may as well check the easy stuff like the choke test and even little stuff like the electrical connections, dirt in the carb etc.

Good luck

Ok i was just out in the garage messing with it again, heres what i found. After i let it warm up real good, it would spit through the filter on low throttle, like when your just tooling around, anything over that its fine. So idle and low speed are ****, the rest is good. What gives?
