i dont know?but my 450R will slowly walk away from my buddys YFZ. they are both pretty close. but neither of these quads will SMOKE the other. my friend is going to get a 13-1 piston and cams for his yfz so he will be faster than me, so im planning on getting a high comp piston for my R too then well see what happens. i know it'll be fairly close

It will chatter your teeth on slow sections. The Honda is more forgiving, but runs well. The seat is waaay better and it won't tire you out as fast.. Both are having crank problems. The R is having frame problems while the YFZ is having swingarm issues.. Now this isn't to say these problems will happen to you, but they are happening.. The Honda isn't the bullet proof quad everybody thought it would be. It has issues like all the rest. Warrantys are affected by your attitude and the way you hande things and Honda is no better then Yamaha. I had an 01 Raptor tranny go out 9 months out of warranty and Yamaha covered it..I'm not bragging. I'm just saying how you handle things can result in a favorable outcome...

No the YFZ has both problems ad the R just has the frame problem. As for your choice the YFZ is defenatly faster than the R if both are stock, if you pipe both of them you get the same results, as for today I'm really pissed off because my YFZ got jumpled on by a R, the guy on the R was jumping and he landed on my front fender and did some minor damage. Well, I have ridden the R a couple times and didn't like it, I didn't feel the push the YFZ gives me, and I felt that at high speeds it feels really ugly. So my choice would totally have to go with yamaha.

id say stock for stock, though i didnt race them side by side, theyd be the same in a drag race in acceleration and top speed. cause at one time i had a stock banshee and raced a yfz and it would consistently get the banshee by 2 quad lengths no matter who rode it. now i have the R and raced a kids stock banshee tons of times, and no matter what machine i was on i won, although he did win 3 times (2 on the r and 1 on the banshee) my opinion is they are all pretty close (predator gets beat by 2 lengths by the yfz too) it just depends on rider, but as i said usually the 450r was the winner with the banshee and all have the same top speed. anyway i like the 450r better because of its smoother and stronger low to mid, top the yfz has it. both handle well, but the 450r is more comfortable and the yfz is a bit more aggressive. also if wheelies are your thing, the R is better there too. i also think the brakes are better too and it kicks over very easy everytime. it never takes more than 3 cold and usually starts on the 1st when hot. hope this helps

You should try too get some more seat time of both of them to decide which you like better. My cousin has a R and it handle and ride smooth and has good power, I don't like the feel of it though the gas tank is too narrow for me

yea if i were u i would just test them out and see which one ur more comfortable on and just for the record the yfz can pull wheelies easier in 3rd and 4th than the R it doesnt have the power to dont get pissed at that i just wanted to say that

I forgot to tell you, if you sort of a big guy lets say more than 6 feet tall, you may not like the ergos of the YFZ, and also I haven't heard of any body liking the seat on the YFZ, so take that in mind when you see check them out.
