..YFZ450 vs TRX450r..Decsion Help.

i would suggest the yfz. yeah the seat is an issue with the yfz but it is fairly minor thing. i would not choose the R cuz it had a better seat. i dont get that tired when i ride but thats just me. i dont see how comparing the 2 quads in a race would help you in your decision because both quads are really close and which quad wins depends on a lot of things (like aftermarket stuff or the rider) so dont let that make your decision. plus if either of the quads arent fast enough for you then im sorry. yeah you probably want the quad that is going to beat all your friends but both the yfz and the R are very fast! i would make my decision based upon where and how you ride. the yfz is a bit more agressive compared to the R's smooth acceleration. i dont know that much about R's so i am not going to tell you that yfz's are way better but i know i would prefer a yfz over anything out there. u guess im just a yamaha person. well good luck with your decision and have fun!

I do.....what is the other thing that would make you not buy one......in other words, what else does the 450r have on the yfz.......pretty much nothing......the yfz(although it is a race machine) isn't real comfortable, and its small too........for the trails I would go with the 450r due to comfort, but for the track, I'd take the yfz.......

The yfz is the fastest out of the box. It was tested by pro riders in a shootout around mid 2004 and they all had the same opinion. Now these are riders who know how to ride, not just a bunch of wanna bees like most of us. You can't compare two quads with you and your buddy riding. Everyone has different riding abilities, so it's not an accurate test. Ride them both at length if possible. If you know guys with both, try'em both for a day and see what you like best. I got the yfz...it was my first quad this summer and I love it. It's fast as hell, but it is tiring to ride. I love how it handles and runs. I can't wait to add more mods. Try watching atv sport tv on the outdoor channel if ya can. I TIVO it every week and there's a lot of good information there.

Sorry, but this topic has been beat to death on here. The complaints about the YFZ are so childish it amazes me. Hands down it's on top right now. There will always be one bike that is on top, the YFZ just so happens to be that bike right now. Next year it may be Honda, Suzuki, Kawi, or even Yami again. But the point is someone will be on top.
There's no question that different quads appeal to different people's riding styles. No one can argue that. Preference will always prevail here. But facts are facts and one will be faster.
