Default Carlisle Badlands XTR Radials vs. ITP Holeshot ATR's

Carlisle Badlands XTR Radials (or) ITP Holeshot ATR's? for my Wolverine?

Decisions decisions, What do you guys think?

I will probably mount them on OEM rims to keep the weight down and price down. The OEM's aren't great, but they are free

As far as riding > mostly trails with hardpack, rocks, sand, and light mud / water. Snow 4-6" deep in the winter months.

I can't argue with ITP's success and experience. On the other hand, I think Carlisle owns ITP??

The Badlands XTR's are much lighter than the ATR's, and I like the tread design better...

totals - 8 lb less for Fronts, - 6 lb less for Rears

According to this site the weight difference is a little less than you stated. http://www.tiresunlimited.com/atv_tires.htm
Being total of 6 pounds front and 2 rear.
They both look like good tires to me.
I was thinking of getting a set of the ATR's but the XTR's look good too.
Decisions, Decisions

Good point here. I was sold on one and then the other and its been a neverending cycle of preference. Good thing I still don't actually NEED tires. I've heard good and bad on both of them though. Lot of guys in the Kawi forum have ATRs and the XTRS I think are stock on AC's. Some folks complained about them over there earlier in the year. I'm thinking bighorns maybe, but I don't like the added weight.

I hate the badland xtr's. I have a 4x4 500 Artic Cat and the roll is terrible on them. It may just be the radials but I am going with 6ply either mudlites or 589's. They have a nice smooth ride but I hate the feel.

I just noticed they say these are 6 ply on the badlands but they have terrible roll. Not sure why.

Having ridden on both tires for a limmited time I would go for the ATR's without question. I have a et on a Sportsman and a friend liked them so well he bought a set for his wifes Wolverine. They are very happy, claim the quad is like a whole new bike.

I would have bought the ATR's, but they have too many problems with out of roundness. Got the XTR's instead, and love them. They don't seem to roll too bad from my perspective. Radials are the only way to go.
