do you mean lights as in back up lights or work lights or what?...i bought mine from wally world for like 15 or 20 bucks i think and they worke aweseme...check out my pics in my sig for pics of my lights...if you are talking about the absolute BEST you can buy then i would go with PIAA lights...go to the Yamaha-Motor website and look for accessories and there you are...they aren't cheap though...but they are the best IMO...

His backup lights are pretty good. Check out mine if you get the chance, same deal at wally world (the communist regime of NW Arkansas) for like $20.
As far as the forward facing, might check around good before deciding there. There are definitely better alternatives to the cheap crap I tried. I used some wally world lights forward facing on my AC, and mounted them a bit lower than the headlights. Cool enough, but not enough light to really matter much or make any good difference. Main problem was that they weren't water proof and one trip to a mudhole filled those suckers full of crap and they were useless. I ended up taking them off and using them as backup lights on my AC and my uncle's AC. Worked ok there, but not something you want to submerge. You could probably get a little better quality than the cheap rally's that I used and mount them on the front rack or something, but that would limit rack space and they might get bushwacked easier. I understand your idea though. I ended up rigging a 6" ($18 at wal mart) spotlight on that AC I had and making a mount on the front rack. Massive light, but not something you wanted to use for a long period of time. I'm sure a 100 watt light would suck the battery fairly fast. I only used it on fire roads at night for massive illumination. Looked pretty cool. We put it on my uncle's 454 after I sold my AC, and it stayed there til my stupid *** cousin rolled the bike this summer. There is a picture of it in my yahoo photos to give you an idea.
