Default should i keep my bike or sell it??

hi, im 15 and own a 1972 yamaha 175 dirt bike. i got it for free and put around $650 dollars into it. When i got it to run i would only work with the choke on. so i took it to a place to have them fix it. well they didnt do very well. they broke my kicks start and redrilled my jetts!!! not what i had in mind. well im not sure wearther to put around $200 more into it or sell it. im thinking of getting another used bike or fourwheeler. i cant spend over $1000 because i need a car soon. im not sure what to do?? what would you do?? im also not sure why it wont run right. i races and goes down then races again. i think it might be jetting, but im not sure. it was sitting for about 10 years so im thinking a carb soak for a day might be best, and i might replace the jett he redrilled. do you think that soaking the carb is a good cheap idea?? or is there a better way?? thanks for all your help... its a two stroke

first off i would take the bike back to the same mechanics and stick it up their a$$'s becuase if they broke the kick start and screwed up your jets they should fix it free of charge. know second off i would go to the nearest BI mart or anywhwere alse that carrys this awsome stuff called berrymens chem dip. it is about 14 bucks for 1 gallon and that lasts you for about 15-20 carb dips. after that it gets so dirty that it will actually dirty yout carb but if you buy a new can you wont have to worry. get a bucket of that stuff and take your whole carb apart and remoce all rubber items like gaskets and o rings. then soak it in the stuf all day. then were long rubber gloves and probably a water proof upper layer as to avoid getting the stuf on your skin becuase it smells really bad. then you wash out the carb with water and then blow compressed air through all the holes and openings to make it clean as a whistle and dry. then reassemble it and put it back on the bike. I hope this works if i can think of what else could cause this then i will PM you. hope ity helps
