I'm considering installing a stage 2 hotcam in my raptor. Anyone have any experience on performance with the hotcam stage 2 vs. any of the other webcams that maybe I should go with instead of the hotcam 2? Does anyone prefer any of the webcams over the stage 2 hotcam? I know that you can keep your stock cam but I'm more concerned about performance than keeping my old cam.

 

Why not go with stage 1? You'd be better off. Stage 2 is designed to work with bored motors. Stage 1 is for stock and small modded motors. Go with stage 1 unless your planning on modding later.

 

wut excactley are u planning to do with them? do u have any mods yet?

 

Planning on 11:1 piston and porting as well.

 

go with the stage 2 i have piped and jetted and put the stage 2 and like it wanted to try a bigger one.

Wrong. The stage 2 is best when combined with a higher compression piston, and porting also helps. Bore size has essentially nothing to do with it.

We need a lot more information to recommend a cam, but both make good products. There are 4 different raptor grinds from webcam so take caution in what you purchase. If you are going to install a webcam be sure to look into valve spring replacement depending on grind specs. The stage 2 requires them.

 

Oh really? Hmm...learn something new everyday. I was going buy what hotcams says about 400ex's.

If you look at hotcams stage 2 on rocky mountain for a 400ex is says works well with larger than stock bore so thats what I was going off of.

 

I have jsut installed a 11:1 piston in my raptor and went with the Webcam racing cam with the titanium valve springs and I love it. Great power through out. was getting my *** beat by my buddies yfz450. When he got his 450 he jetted it and put a pipe on it and would beat y by about 8 quad lengths. After the mod i can reach out and touch his rear fender. I have since regeared my quad and we are goin riding on tuesday. WE will run them off again and see what happens be sure to let you know.

 

I have had outstanding results from megacycle cams, Every one I have installed has been spot on.

hm, i am planning on dropping in a 11:1 JE piston why'll my motor was apart to put an 02 tranny in, and getting a stage 1 cam, now i think im better off with a stage 2 w/ Kibble white(sp) springs.
