i have a rancher 4x4 es and i guess for a 350 its sporty but i think it is slow as he**. thats y im getting a yfz 450. but its agreat beginior quad but it has bad pulling, ground clearence, and no locker. i've never riddin a big bear so i wouldn't knwo about that. but if you are doing slow smooth trails the rancher is fine anythign more and you will get bored. its slow to the fastest i've gone is 48mph

Damn, thats a tough one. I know a couple of people that one of each and their both tough. I think Honda's are more reliable but my friends Bear has been through freakin hell and its still runs and looks good. And the Bear isn't very fast either, I think I clocked him at around 46-47mph. Either or they are both good, I'd say its all up to looks.

You can't go wrong with either machine. I have an 05 big bear 400 and my buddy has had his rancher for a few years now. They both go pretty much where they please.

Although this weekend I used my BB to pull my pickup truck from being stuck. Got my truck stuck in the yard...all it was doing was spinning the tires. Put the wife in the truck and strapped the BB to it, and pulled it out with no problem. Gotta love the low gear.
