Doing a plug check, white=lean and black=rich. You want it a light brown, tan color!

To get the best accurate reading on a plug to see where your machines @, If you can, get a wide open spot, ride around and get it warmed up and then 5th gear wide open, shut down the machine, coast to a stop and pull the plug and see where it is @. Like pendejo said white-lean black-rich. Right now your too rich, If the machine is not falling on it's face when you ride it, your pretty close, lean it out a bit and you'll have it! good luck

thanks for throwing that in rotty150, I screwed up my jetting hardcore the first time I used the plug check method because I ran at 1/4 throttle in 5th and the plug read rich instead of lean because of it.

Default lean or rich

Pilot Jet/Mixture Screw = idle to 1/4 throttle (maybe less than 1/4)
Needle Jet=1/4 to 3/4
Main Jet=3/4 to WOT

It sounds like your running rich, but not sure where. Rottys test is good to check if the Main Jet is correct, but you have to do the same for all of them. Your main jet could be right on, and your pilot jet could be way off, or vice versa. Is the plug wet (with gas) when it fouls out or is it just black and dry? Usually popping when you let off the gas means its lean. Sounds like your needle jet is too rich and your pilot is too lean, obviously its hard to tell on here. Anyway, hope this helps.
