Default 660R Starting Noise.

Hey all. I just got my 2001 Raptor 660R, the carbs just need to be cleaned since it was sitting for 2 years. anyway, i was trying to start it, and the motor was turning over fine, but i came back later to try it again, and it turned it over for like, 4sec, then a buzzing noise came out of where the battery connectors are. Now the motor turns over for 1 sec and starts buzzing.. .Is the battery just dead? thanks.

I went from a 91 LT250R to a Raptor as well. Night and day difference. I kinda miss the 250 sometimes. I wish I would have kept it.

your battery is dead then or going dead jump start or use jumper cables get it started and let it run for about 15mins then turn it off then try to start it again if it dont then your cells are burnt out time to get a new battery

Well, i have almost everything removed from my raptor right now. I took off the battery and i am charging it at 2amps over night. also, i took the carbs off, and Man! they have this green gunk all in them! i will clean those out tommarow. I just wanted to know out of curioisity, when i put my quad in 1st, and pull in the clutch, the motor still is engaged, but when i go into like, 4th or 5th, then the clutch works. Do you think i just need new plates? or does it only work when the motor is running? thanks.
