Did everyone else have stock gearing also? What distance was the race? Did the other machines jump the Raptor out of the hole and then keep pulling away or did the Raptor start pulling them back in?

Ahhh....had to do a little apprehension avoidance huh?

I have a friend that says he took the headlights out of a state police car on a gravel road on his 250R. That would have made good film.....

Mint86250R,

Good point trx 400, but getting beat by a stock raptor by five lengths while Having PIPES and REEDS, that's pretty sorry. He better rejet or rebuild that thing. Hell, I thought he was talking about a blaster when he said he got beat be 5 lengths with those mods :-)

Back in the day we would take the banshees and 250R's and LT 500 and reak havock in the town then blow off the police. Trust me it makes good video, especially seeing a banshee ramp a police car from off of an embankment. Some one got caught once so we quit that stuff, but maybe once again. We went to bail him out after he got 11 tickets because he was running an old 250R honda 3 wheeler and ran out of gas and the cop ran him over with the car after he switched to reserve and got going again. He was the only injury besides alot of cops' egos and their hub caps. But the latest incident was very fun after parking and hiding the raptor we watched the cop cruise around for about 30 minutes looking for us. He hadnt a clue as to what happened to it or where it went. All he saw was a power 180 and a mile long dust cloud.

YaMaRaPtoR,
That stuff sounds like fun. My friends and I are always running from the Forest Rangers in New York, they hate us. There isn't to many cops where we ride but I'm always looking for that adrenalin rush that you can only get when cops are chasing you. I used to have a Kawasaki ZX-7R but I sold it so I could ride my Raptor instead of going in jail. Later

I hope everyone else realizes that you cannot have a fair competition between machines on gravel. That is the worst possible base there is to drag race on. A rock hard bottom, with a very slippery surface. A banshee wouldn't hardly hold up to a 400ex on that surface because the 400ex would have much better traction. Fair is fair, find some blacktop, and the piped and ported banshee would smoke the raptor. On top end, I would be willing to bet that the banshee was spinning like crazy because of the loose surface. Anything is better than gravel.

I always wondered why we ATV riders were held in the same light as mass murderers and child molesters. It all makes sense to me now. jbyb
