The most important things and the easiest to screw up IMO are to install the decompression pin assembly correctly and to make sure you are not 180 out.

(I've done both, but at different times and different cams.)

You have the stronger springs right? Also don't forget the cam break in...very important to do right! As for jetting, you'll have to richen it up forsure but I don't know how much, I'd say once you have it all ready to rip jet it up one on the main and see how it runs and just go from there with the guess and check.

Yes I do have stronger springs already in. I thought I would start with one size up on jets. What kind of assembly lube should I use (no moly)?

How much of a power gain did the stage 1 give?

My friend has a raptor with a yoshi pipe and no airbox lid. When we would race we would be side by side until 4th gear, then he would pull away. So I just installed cams in my Z, now he is going to get a stage 1 for his raptor. Kind of wondering what to expect. I will also have to help him with the install, anything I should know besides geting a manual.

Any type of assembly lube will work, just pick some up at your local auto store.

witti: I'd expect him to gain at least 2 HP no more than 4 though. He will still beat you on the top end...Rappys have the power advantage.

I went up one size on my pilots.

Cam break in is crucial, 30 minutes at something like 4500 rpm. I cant remember the exact engine speed, but its in the break in instructions that came with the cam. Bubba has you covered on the grease, dont be afraid to slab a good but reasonable portion on.

Non molybdendum. (sp?) Lubes with moly will increase chances of clutch slippage. I would also change the oil after it's been ran and broke in. jmo.

Be sure to install the automatic chain tensioner correctly because it can ruin your valves amongst other things.
