Default bit the dust

Last month a buddy and i took a trip to glamis. Well lets just say it got the best of me. I was riding my 02 rappy and went off a sand mound into a sink hole at about 70 clicks. After a trip to the local ER, and some reconstructive surgury i was fine, but the quad wasn't. Welded on the frame is two brackets to bolt on the lower left a-arm. Due to the impate, the bracket split. Since the bracket is part of the frame i can't just order it sepratly. I've gotten alot of advise and the majority says to replace the frame. Does anybody out there know a better solution to this problem? If yes, please be specific.

I feel your pain buddy, i spent some quality time at the ER on sunday. Nowhere near as bad as you, i hope your feeling ok. Sucks to hear about your bike. If the damage is that extensive i say go get a new fram, you don't know if the repair will be as good as stock.

Another prossibility is to have a welder repair the frame, but i doubt it will ever be as strong.

If it looks or is really bad, look for a new frame, I know they are costy, but they are always some on Ebay. If not, go have it welded together, and check on it every time you go riding, you never know. Hope you get better soon, and don't have too much pain.

My dad is an ER doc, he see some crazy stuff up here. Alot of Mountain Bikers faces smashed, hit by a car etc... Not as many quads but tons of Motorcycle accidents.

Get a new frame, thats the best bet. Sorry about your accident

Sorry to hear about your wreck.

If your frame tubes are FINE (no kinks or signs of hairline fractures) just have a machine shop make you a new bracket. the original bracket was welded on at the factory so welding on another will be just as strong if done correctly. Def. have a professional welder do the work for you unless you are very skilled at welding.
