raptor hard time starting...
#1
i left my quad outside for a couple hours while snow was coming down hard....and it was freaking cold out there....i had one h3ll of a time starting it with the choke on, thats normal right?, oh and it doesnt seem to want to idle very long SOMETIMES and will stall....i think its cuz i took the baffel out? (offset valves?) but if anyone could tell me why it keeps stalling i would be sooooo happy! thx

Mine does the same thing. last night it was o degrees outside and a windchill of 20 below. Mine took approaximately 10 tries on full choke to start. after it finally started i ran it with the choke on full for a short distance until it would idle. after that there was no problems. i rode for two hours and had a blast until i got cold. had to go play in the snow.

i road mine when it was 5 degrees out, -10 windchills. it fired up really quick, but it stalled once or twice when i pulled the clutch in, and poped sometimes off of high rev, other then that it ran fine, and my plug is tan so i guess its fine.

yah I believe they are cold natured. but once they fire up they are fine. it makes sense though not to fire up right away when your running two carbs, one cylinder size of a liter soda bottle.

Keep in mind that wind chill temp. only affects skin. It has no affect at all on inanimate objects. Your quad will know it's 20 degrees out whether it's sitting still or going 50 mph, your skin will feel the wind chill at 50 mph though.
My Wolverine started and ran fine last night at 18 degrees, it seemed to take longer to warm up Sunday night when it was about 10 degrees warmer......weird....
