Default Yamaha Wolverine question

I am eyeballing a Wolverine as my next potential 4wheeled ****. I currently ride a camo-taped, loud-*** and ugly '85 honda 250sx and like the fact that as far as POS atc's go, its got a superlow gear, trailer hitch, while the rest of the bike was "sport" oriented (for a 3wheeler back in 85, so lay off). at any rate, does the wolverine have a SuperLo first gear for pulling? what is the deal there. I know the hitch is optional but it's like 30 bucks from DK. i figure it will satisfy my utility/sport tendencies until i can afford one of each. any relevant opinions would be appreciated.

it does have a super l0ow gear for towing. I have moved a 10" wide by 15' long oak off the trail be for. I couldn't even get it move a little with my hands.

wolverines are more sport than utility. higher gears for more speed, long travel suspension. big bear 400 is one power house, low geared worker. Depending on what you want and want to do with it as which kind of 4wheeler to get. If you want semi auto foot shift then choose fast, or slow with power. If full auto, then be sure it has high and low range. front differential lock is always a plus

the fact that it doesn't have the granny low first is rather miserable. i love being able to crawl through crap then being able to just nail the gas and run. thanks for the replies, that fact alone has made me reconsider this bike since i absolutely love the superlo first gear on my 250sx. i remember when i bought the 85 250sx and the guy who sold it said "yeah it has a superlo first gear, but its pretty useless and i never use it". i have probably used that gear more than any other gear for crawling through mud and towing, yet I love the fact that i can still click through the other gears to whip around if i want.

How good are wolverines for mud bogging. I mean 27" tires. I could get a locker but does it have enough power to turn the tires in deep mud

25" tires on a Wolv are as big as you will want to go.

I'm not into the mud bogging...but since 1st gear is no where near as low as a true Utility, big mud might be a problem.

yeah without a granny lo first gear i have no idea how that thing could even spin big tires, let alone in the thick and heavy stuff.

Wolverines definately don't have a superlow gear, but they do pull things ok and they are alot of fun to play with.

As far as 27inch tires are concerned, no way, you should not run tires any bigger than 25's unless the engine is heavily modified. Though even with 25's it can be very good in the mud, I think that at least half of mudding is the drivers ability to ride also, just like everything else. I use mine for towing, mudding, and going fast, no complaints here.
