Glowing exhaust..
I noticed my Big Bear doing the same thing when I got it. I'll have to check on it tonight to see if it still does it. I have not noticed any signs of running lean. My plug checks out normal/rich if anything. I was thinking it was the metal they used. Dont know for sure. If I hear of any reasons I will post em.

Glowing exhaust..
Update- asked the stealership service tech about it. He said its normal. I dont know if I believe him. I cant find any reason for it, besides the fact that is where all the heat is at. Gonna get a pipe and filter and rejet in next few months, so I will update after that.

Glowing exhaust..
Well I have a YFZ450 and it glows pretty nicely at night too
I had never really ridden it in the dark except for the blizzard on the 22nd but I had heard before that it was normal. I had also just gotten it back from the dealer. They did the 20hr service - oil change, adjusted the valves etc... and said it was in tiptop shape.
Anyone wanna buy it?

Glowing exhaust..
Thanks again. I finally did get it in for the first checkup. They checked it over; valves, plug, carburetor, etc. Everything checked out OK. The mechanic, in whom I do trust, said that the glowing exhaust is normal. I asked them especially about being too lean, as some of you indicated that too lean would harm the engine, and he said it was not too lean. So, I guess it's just gonna glow........ And, in running it, there is certainly no indication of any problem - acceleration, top speed, engine braking, idling, etc., all are excellent. Just one of those crazy things....
