you guys need to call a Farmers ins rep.I pay $170 a year with $100 deductible for comp(theft, fire, vandalism) and collision, full repalcement value plus reimbursement for add-on parts(pipe, shocks etc)on my 00 400ex.I am 29, married and along with my wifes quad 00 300ex at $140 year with same deductible and policy type these are only things we have with them,so no multiple vehicle discounts or homeowners discount just straight up price.Progressive is by far one of the highest cost insured out there,so dont even bother except for a good laugh.

State Farm has rather good rates on ATVS.

For a 98 Banshee, full coverage, collision, theft, 50k of liability, I only pay 148 a year.

I'm 28/single/with a good record (just one ticket in the last 3 years)

You can also try www.weinsurefun.com . They do quotes over the internet, and have good prices last time I checked. I just ran a raptor to see what price it was... I'll let you all know.

Insurance rates are based on the drivers record, the usage of the vehicle and the area where you live. I have State Farm insurance on my 99 Banshee with collision and theft coverage with a 250 deductible for about 250 a year. If the Banshee was owned in the middle of nowhere Utah and listed as farm use I could probably insure it with the same coverage for 50 a year. Usually you will get the best rates from the insurer that handles the rest of your insurance. I believe you can go to insureweb.com or insweb.com to get quotes from almost all reputable insurers.
I'd like to give State Farm an "adduhboy" if I may.
I had my 99 Banshee for about 2 weeks. (of course I insured it immediately upon purchase) Aound the 4th of July I had some friends over. My friend keeps his Warrior at my house since his garage has the Waverunners in it. Well my friend and my brother in law wanted to do some riding while I was grilling the burgers. I said OK but told my friend that I would rather that he ride the Banshee since my brother in law may not be able to handle the power. He agreed. About an hour later my friend said that he got the Banshee stuck. What really happened was that he was going over a small jump (maybe 2ft high) in 2nd gear and just as he was going over the power kicked in and it threw him off. The Banshee landed (as we were able to figure out later) on the side of the left front wheel and then rolled over every way possible. All the plastic is creased the upper "A" arm, the hub, rotor, frame etc etc is munched.
I called my agent who put in a claim.
The claims people told me to take it to a shop for an estimate. My estimate was $5213.00 dollars+ 124.oo to do the estimate. They then asked me to get a price for a similarly equipped replacement. Using a 99 Banshee on the lot and adding back the same equipment, the replacement was $7723.00. So State Farm wrote me a check for $5213.00+ $ 124.00- $250.00.
Since there was no lein and the "repair" was cheaper than a replacement I keep the Banshee and I use the money as I see fit to repair it.

That, my friends, is the way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It depends on what your situation is:

If you use your quad ON your property, and it never leaves your property, you may be able to attach the atv to your homeowner's insurance for a decent rate. Approximately $150-$250.

If you use your quad on your farm, for farm purposes, you can insure it as being on your farmowner's policy for an ADDITIONAL +/-$40.00 in many cases. That's what I do.

If you use your quad at your home, and you take it to other destinations as well, you need a SEPARATE policy taken out for your quad only. And that would easily cost you over $250.00.

And yes, I do work at an insurance agency. I might add, situations are different in other states, and terms and conditions will vary from insurance co. to insurance co. It all depends on what risks you are exposed to. For those of you paying around $150, call your agent and make sure you are covered AWAY from your premises, otherwise, you are getting a hell of a deal. Hope I have shed some light on this one. Have a good one!
