Double clutching is when you pull the clutch in, just like you normally would, switch gears and then let the clutch out a little while you get on the gas. Once you let it out a bit to catch traction pull it back in while you still on the gas. This causes the revs to increase and then you dump the clutch. This helps because you can dump the clutch, but still catch traction because your'll already moving a bit from the first time you let out the clutch.

IN order to be done right, it has to be done quick. It's hard to get used to but works well for hill climbing and stuff to get the revs up fast but without loosing all your traction.

It's similar to feathering the clutch, but right after you shift,

oh, i did just the opposite... pushing in the clutch, shifting, revving higher, and then letting the clutch go... on both four wheeler and car... is it bad... heh

Thats just dumping the clutch, which really dosn't do anything for you. The reason why double clutching is better is because your already rolling when you dump it.
