I'm trying to check my blasters piston clerance, I have my piston in my cylinder, do I just see what size feeler guage fits between the piston and cylinder wall, or does the feeler guage have to fit between the rings and the cylinder wall?? What is the spec where I should rebore?? I thought it was around .006", I can fit a .010" between the piston and the wall, but .006" doesn't fit between the rings. Do I need to rebore and how much?? Please help, thanks for any replies!!

I don't know that much about motorcycle engine but I'm a diesel mechanic and the way that I have preformed the task you are doing is with a micrometer measure the o.d. of the piston. Then with a telscoping gauge find the diameter of the cylinder. This the cheapest way to go if you don't have both inside and outside micrometers since you use the telescoping gauge in conjuction with the outside micrometer. Hope this helps and I didn't babble to long!
