linkage on a blaster
#1
has anyone done this... is it even possible? what would have to be done to do so. will it improve the ride quality and suspension action? any more wheel travel? will it lower the ground clearance? haha, so many questions, help me out here guys! If you have pictures of someone with linkage on their blaster, i would like to see them thank you much

i was thinking about getting one, since im getting a 400ex shock, and banshee front shocks, so it would sit lower, but i have no way to prevent the thing from swinging up and folding backwards on the swingarm when jumping so i think i'll just make it taller and wider.

you would have to do some wleding to fabricate something to hold the linkage? how would you add the other mounting holes and where.
it would be nice if you can make a crude drawing on Paint or something and just draw things on there, haha.
im not too familiar with other quads, but is there one out there with linkage that could fit the blaster? or is the engine mounting design completely different. Pictures would be HIGHLY APPRECIATED dmonik10@hotmail.com
I agree with vinson, the ride quality would be GREATLY improved.
It would also be nice since I am thinking of turning my Blaster into a show and street-legal machine.
(nice big street tires such as the old West Coast Customs 400EX or Scrambler)
thanks for the feedback guys!

OK. Here is a pic, but let me explain it first. This is a stock swingarm that was extended 3''. That is why there is two cross tubes. The square one is the origional that holds the spot where the rear shock once mounted. The second cross tube, which is round, was mounted there for extra support for the swingarm when they extended it. This extra cross tube also gave them a spot to make the second mounting bracket for the linkage. They cut out 2 mounts and welded them onto the cross tube. Then the actuall linkage piece (the red thing) mounts to TWO spots to keep it from pivoting, and then mounts to the shock.
You can see the two bolts that hold the linkage to the frame, but not where the shock attaches in this picture.
