I have a 1997 Blaster had a bad stator. Replaced that and put in a new rings and reeds. It sat for a few months now when it starts it idles very high. When I turn the screw on the carb it does nothing what could it be.

there should be a screw under the seat thats right behind the gas tank....its a pretty big screw and its flat head....turn that while the bike is running counter clockwise and it should lower the idel

Could be a air leak around any of the gaskets on the top end. Did you put new ones on when you replaced the rings?
Also could be the idle, like DOT200 said, its under the seat on top of the tors unit.
