Cycle-specific oils are designed with a special polymer for wet-clutches. After putting regular oil in my quad, my clutch developed severe slippage during the race, and luckily, it held on until the checkered flag.....It cost me good positions, but the clutch stayed together...
I got home, drained the oil, put ATV oil back in, ran it through the gears, and changed the oil again.
In the next few rides, I could feel the clutch slippage going away a little at a time.....now its back to normal...
