Default Extra Lighting for Grizzly

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone has added a 3rd or 3rd/4th lights for the Grizzly? As you know, the Grizzly comes with dual 30watt bulbs. It's not that great, want to added a little.

1. Which wattage should I get?
2. 3 lights or 4 lights?
3. What brand should I use?
4. Can I just splice into the stock headlight wires?

Any help would be appreciated.

You could try upping the wattage of the stock bulbs to 45 watts ( or what ever is available that fits your quad) that would make a big increase with no wiring. Otherwise, try a small 50 watt driving light mounted to the handle bars, you could wire it to have its own switch so you control when it is on, and being on the bars means it will track where you steer, and light the path better.

piaa has some great lights...small and powerfull. I would stay away from their pencil projection lights and go more towards the flood/fog style. Try to mount them as far to the outside of your atv as possible, this really helps with cornering. Personally I don't like the look of lights mounted on the handle bars even though they are great when turning.

my dad put a 80watt spot light and a 60 watt wide beam light mounted just below the front rack and wired them into the high beam setting from the stock lights, it works great, very bright.

Trailtech makes HID lighting(same found on high end cars) for atvs, if your going to get lights i suggest them, they draw less wattage to produce more light then a normal style light.

In my pics, you can see the HID Style lights I added up front on my Kodiak recently. 55w high output Super White beams, that came complete with pre-wired harness, fused power pick-up, and switch.
I was in the market for some aftermarket lights, and during a quick run to Wal-Mart recently, I stumbled across these in their automotive section. It had everything I needed, except mounting brackets, which I easily made for myself, then clamped 'em on to the front cross bar above the winch.
Best part was, the lights were only 20 bucks. I fugured for that price, I might as well try some. If they didn't work out, or I broke them, I was only out 20 bucks. So far they work great. They're flamethrowers compared to the stock headlights. Once my 55w headlight bulb upgrade finally comes in from PIAA, I'll have it made.
They have different styles for long range beams, or flood/fog types, and have yellow too if you prefer that. I chose the 3 1/2" round long range style, since they closely matched my stock headlights and I wanted some lights that extended my high beams a bit. These easily extend my lights out to 100 yards in the dark, and they're very very white light.
When you get the beams adjusted properly, they make all the difference in the world for your night time runnin.
The lights I got were Pro Burners from Wal-Mart. For 20 bucks, you can't go wrong.
