Exactly what I had came up with. Yamaha must not have had room for a larger gear to create a lower reverse. Reverse is way to high. But it is there and I would rather have it as to not. Also, the next quad that they come out with should have a better chain adjustment procedure. It's nice to have such a great machine that you can only complain about very minor things.

"minor things"????

The New Raptor was supposed to be the "New King of the Hill" (according to Dirt Wheels)--I saw it right on the cover of their magazine.

"minor things"????

The King of the Hill can't climb it.

That's exactly right..."minor things". If it is just as-fast as anything else out there and does everything else better, does'nt that mean "king of the Hill"? You have rode a Raptor hav'nt you to? Of course you have since you are posting an opinion on the machine.

Dear Flyin-Ryan, I am the wife of Racer_x. I do not ride like racer_X but I enjoy riding. I know why Yamaha put reverse on a sport bike. As a very feminine woman (Who likes to ride)I simply do not have the strength to move the bike around without help from the engine. I could not pull any bike out of a mud hole, nor do I have the strength to load or unload a bike without it doing the brawn work. You see, I only have the brains. Yamaha was thinking of me.

Very Sincerely, Mrs. racer_x

PS. Thank you Yamaha. I LOVE his Raptor and look forward to taking the ATV safety course this month.

Dear x250rDude, The amount of toys you have is your decision and should be made wisely based on your financial status. However, in this day and age, the women seem to think they can rule the checkbook. I am the wife of racer_x. Please read his previous posting that listed his current toys. He has a freind who's wife won't let him have any toys. You won't loose your toys. As a matter of fact we have 3 boys. All three are on a quad (with mom or dad) as soon as they can stabley sit by themselves. Yes there is a certain amount of risk but let's review the facts: there is risk involved in cars. Keep your speed slow, your knees hold the baby and your clutch hand on his chest. Make your trips short and only in 1st gear. Enjoy yourself, make it a family event and he will like it too. Very Sincerely, Mrs. racer_x.

Someone better tell big brother(Yamaha) whats up with the a arms breaking on the raptor before someone gets seriously injured. I hate to see any atv guys get hurt due to a companys screw up. I guess they should not have made everything so small and light.

Well im gonna go back out and jump my stock DS650 off 20-30ft. dunes and doubles at the track and have a blast as I have done since day one.

Happy atving!
