02 Grizzly Pull Starter
#1
I'm new to ATV's and new to this thread. I just picked up a new to me 2002 Grizz and was playing around, I tried to use the pullstarter and almost pulled a muscle. Anyone use this, have any opinions on it.

If the mechanism is clean, and not packed with dirt or mud, theres a technique, for getting the motor to start.
Slowly pull the rope, until it gets just beyond the compression stroke. Youll know this, because it gets tough to pull...and then it gets very easy. Retract the rope back in, slowly pull, til you feel resistance(about an inch or so), then pull swiftly, and fully.
This uses the flywheel effect to get you thru the next compression stroke.
