Default 350 BRUIN RELIABILITY

Hi, I bought my 350 bruin 4x4 when they first came out. So far I have about 150 hours on it with no trouble at all. I have been off of this forum since last April so I haven't been able to keep up with the reports on them. Have they been having any certain mechanical problems? Have people been satisfied with their bruins? Any after market improvements to be made? I am happy with mine, but wish someone would come out with a speedometer. I put a yamaha tact on mine, but it is small and hard to read on trails. I have gotten it up to 8200 rpms. My neighbor has a 400 polaris and he clocked my speed at 55 mph. How accurate that is? I don't know. Like to hear from ya all.

Hi big baller, Ya, I had my doubts about that myself. What have the guys been getting? about 47 mph. Is that rpm reading I got about right? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Nubbin;
Can't really tell you about top speed yet. My brother-in-law bought one last year, and loves it. We haven't had our machines together yet, since he lives on the other side of the state, but at the end of the month, he's bringing it over and we'll have a chance to tear up some trails together. Since mine has a digital speedo, I'll know more about its top speed after we take 'em out.
He used it for hunting this year, hauled out an awesome whitetail buck on it, trail rides with it, and plows a TON of snow with it (Almost daily this time of year, since he lives in the mountains.).
He's extremely happy with it, and from the sounds of it, wouldn't have anything else. Reliablity so far has been outstanding. No problems of any kind. (And he's not the best at maintenance or TLC). He uses it like a workhorse, and it lives up to his demands every day.
Good luck with yours. I'm sure you'll be happy.

The Bruin is a 4x4 and much heavier. And the Rancher is about the same speed or slower. The Bruin is about the same speed as the rubicon if you want to compare yamaha to honda.

Well, my brother-in- law has nothing BUT positive feedback for his.
We'll check his speed against my speedo, and the GPS to confirm mine. Hell, maybe I'll even take out one of the radar guns, just to get it exact.
If somebody doesn't beat me to it, I'll let you know how it does. His is an 04 if it matters.

My wife bought a used one three weeks ago. The guy just wanted to upgrade to the kodiak. Its been tortured everyday since with no problems. As for speed, my wife has followed me twice with two diffrent vehicles, we came up with 46 and 48 mph. The only thing I would say it needs immediatly would be wheel spacers, this thing is a little more tippy than what Im used to. We have no regreats about the purchase of this bike, its a good low maintenance family bike. The engine braking is excellent which is important to us, to us its a good safety feature that makes us more comfortable when the kids take off on it.
