get your flywheel lightened.. It help's u get into the power band alot faster. I may be off a little bit but i think it is like 45 bucks. Are you could go up to a 28 or 30mm carb (stock is 26mm). Both will work with the stock manifold so u save around 60-70 buck's.

You can advance your timing for the cost of a flywheel puller, like mentioned flywheel lightening will make a difference, banshee front shocks, 400ex or 250r rear shock, banshee axel, extended swingarm and proper jetting.

This will add a bit here and a bit there, too really change the way the machine reacts you need to have the engine ported, and upgrade the intake to match the free'er flowing exhaust. The suspension modifications will also make you faster.........improved suspension = faster corners, less slowing down for bumps and less rider fatigue.

Actually getting a 28 or 30 mm carb will make better performance. Getting something like a 33-35mm will hurt performance on a stock motor. 33-35mm is for big bored engine's that have been port and polished. But a 28mm or 30mm carb -will- be a performance mod. I read somewhere that a 28mm carb is a 15% power gain after u have got a pipe.

Bingo. Air flows faster through smaller openings which is why too large of a carb may hurt peformance. Without changing your engine, I.E porting or Boring, it is only going to draw in the same amount of air on each stroke. So with a larger carb the air is actually moving slower which results in lost power and throttle responce. However if your engine is modified and is now able to draw in more air then a larger carb is defently in order to give the engine max power.
