This yamaha Vs. Honda debate has been going on since the first 3 wheeler rolled off the assembly line. It does not take a rocket scientist to see that the Honda 450r is overpriced for the materials used compared to the yamaha. Buy a Honda 450r so that Honda can take the profits and put it into the street bikes.

3 out of 4 may have been on a honda that won/placed in houston, big deal. Those 3 would have finished in the same order on a yamaha.

 

Stock for stock they are about even. When you start modding the YFZ is faster, but now people are starting to do a little research on the R and it's starting to show. The only difference is I can ride mine all day and still be able to walk. An hour on the YFZ is pure torture........

 

As for the three riders winning on honda 450rs..... just look at Ricky carmichael, he would be out in front of the competition no matter what he rode, he is just that good. The rider has more to do with winning than the ride

As far as i am concerned Honda's 450r should come standard with PINK plastic. Come to think of it most of the Honda line should be PINK. In the dunes all you see on the 400ex is wives and girlfriends and kids. Why Honda would have a kick start on a pink quad is beyond me. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

ooo and i was talkin to my buddy that works at a honda shop and heard that the only reason the honda beat the yfz at the baja race was because honda sent its riders some 450 with 20k of stuff on them and the yfz ran it stock so yea take that honda we only came in 2 hours behind
