Well, I was going to take a compression reading on my Raptor, but there are 2 problems. First, the plug is down inside the head, making it hard to get a compression gauge threaded on, and secondly, if I understand correctly, there is an automatic compression release, so taking a reading would result in less than actual compression.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Also, has anyone checked the color of their plug?
Mine looks like it is a little on the lean side.

What did you measure on your Raptor for compression? I am getting 135psi on the DS650. The DS has 9.7:1 compression ratio and auto decompression. I'm trying to decide if 135psi is good or bad.

Wow, you dug up an old post there Scooby.
Actually, it was just out of curiosity that I asked the question. I never have had a problem with power, so I've never took the time to check it. I didn't think that I'd get and accurate reading with the auto decompression working.

While I was checking valve clearance, I decided to temporarily disable the auto decompression on the DS650. It now measured 215psi!
