We used to be cheaper in Canada but our dollar is too strong for it to make much of a difference now. An like confusedbuyer said, good luck getting it across the border without the rectal exam. I paid 7800 CAD for my new raptor a week ago. I travel to Houston frequently and if there's something there about 20 percent cheaper, i still buy it up here for the same reasons as you, keep my money at home.

that's still a good price for a Raptor isn't it? was that OTD, or + tax, +freight+PDI+ dealer doc fees, etc...?

RiverzEnd, we lose a TON of biz to Alberta because of the sales tax. Alberta serves 3 -4 provinces (BC, AB, SASK & Manitoba). I can get a kids atv shipped from Calgary to here for about $80!! and the worst part is, they come off the ship in Vancouver, get trucked to AB, then come back to Vancouver on the same truck, but end up costing less. Doesn't make a lotta sense. Ya, with our $$ improving (actually, it's the US $ weakening), you'd think we'd start to see some price drops on stuff like atvs coming out of Japan. Unfortunately, we've already been programmed to pay $8-10K for a quad, so now the dealers can just increase their profit margins. Man, we're suckers!

well a friend of mine went up there to some town and bought an 02 rap new for 1500 less then he could get it here in our wonderful town that included the fees for crossing the boarder an all. our local rec store are full of crap and wont budge on price. ive had friends here that found the same bike for 500 less in Roseburg and our local shop wouldnt even drop 300 to make a sale. its pretty frustrating, I would love to buy local but they arent helping one bit. Must be commision sales. Pendejo knows what im talking about cuz he lives here. I dont like it but its the truth.

OTD $8453. No freight, PDI, or admin costs. You guys get hosed out there on tax. I'm from Ontario originally so I know all about that. I saved 3080 bucks on my new truck too. But hey, there's lots of natural resources grown from the soil that BC exports to Alberta i hear

actually, they don't use soil, only a modified basement, grow lights and irrigation. yep, it's world class, direct to you from Vansterdam!

Try www.motorcycle-brokers.com They seem to have good deals and will ship to the US or you can pick the bike or ATV up in Blaine WA.

I inquired about purchasing from them and they wouldn't sell to persons in Canada. Doesn't make sense to me as they are located in Richmond B.C. and state that they ship world wide.

I have seen them on ebay quite often as well.

Good luck.

Another place you may want to try is www.blackfootmotorsports.com. They seem to have some good deals and state that they will ship anywhere. They are located in Alberta.

Yep, my buddy bought an 04 EX from Bend Rec, and after all was said and done, he paid nearly $7K for it! I don't have a problem with the company, just the whole sales department. I called them one day looking for a price on a new Banshee, just for comparison, and he wouldn't even give me a price! These sales people have horrible customer relations.

Correction: it's actually blackfootmotosports.com and they don't move on their prices although they do have a great selection. They are one of JS Roy's major sponsors.

oooohhhhhh....OUCH!!! that hurt. good thing Canada is so completely the opposite and totally supports the economy of Bellingham, Blaine and Mt. Baker. Bellingham would be a ghost town if not for all the canuckleheads that shop there and keep it going. We have zero patriotism here (except for hockey). the minute something is cheaper, we bolt for the cheap price. Could have something to do with the fact a huge chunk of our population are recent immigrants to Canada that have less than 10 years in the country, and see it as a social program they can bleed dry, but when they need a cheap price it's like, "Well F*** the local economy and local businessman, I'm going to Blaine!".

I'm glad to hear you support your local biz Bing, cuz if you don't, it won't be there for you. BUT let me ask you this.... do you shop at Walmart? They seem to do more to kill small biz and EVERYTHING is cheap, off-shore crap. It's kinda ironic that they're a "local" biz, because that whole mentality has done more to kill "Made in The USA" than anything else i can think of. It's really a shame.
no walmart shopping here

Im not anti-Canada,,,in case I sent the wrong impression.

If everybody from Oregon drove to BC to buy atv's ,,,,,what would happen to their local dealers? Same reason I wouldnt buy a quad in Oregon. I like to support my neighbors and my local economy. My customers are local,,,,and they support me.

If I lived in Bellingham,,,,BC would be local to me.
