Default Lowering kits

Has anyone tried a lowering kit for their Raptors or yfz? I know that you cant use them for serious jumping but I wonder if it would help in trail rides.

Only on mild, low speed trail rides. The way they are setup if the front tires leave the ground the drop brackets are free to rotate and when you come back down they can bust. It helps a lot, but you need to be real careful and stay on the ground.

Check out my pics. I don't have a problem with jumping, trails, or anything for that matter. But I'm only 135 lbs. For a heavy rider, it would definately be a problem.

Your Raptor looks pretty good. I was just thinking about my wifes bike. Hers is just like yours(black special edition) This is her first and I have already put on 1.5 inch spacers and I really dont want to spend alot of money on it. I just want to give it a lower profile for her so it handles a little better on the trails. She is not a jumper anyways. Thanks for the input.

I had a lowering kit on the rear of my raptor for 2 rides. The first ride was on a strip mine and some fast trails and I noticed a considerable difference. The second was just on some little hills and it got totally trashed... But then again I was doing some little jumps. Fast trails no jumps good... one big jump and kiss your rear shock goodbye...

Lowered mine.....Check out my pics.....Looks AWESOME...
It handles GREAT..I does not even feel like the same ride..I have been out on the trails about 5 times..No problems..
I have gotten about 4 to 5ft of air and it soaked it up fine....Makes a little rattling sound but have not bottomed out...
The only reason I lowered it was to widen the front end and at the time it was a cheap fix..
I do not have any regrets..
I am going to be pulling the lowering kit soon and selling it to go with new A arms.
If any one is interested let me know...Its about 4" front and rear....E-mail me gsx678@adelphia.net
Hope this helps,
