banshee or yfz450?
well if thats true, how come no one puts a huge 2 stroke motor into a car? I'm not saying your wrong, I would just like to know how something like that is possible. Maybe I'm an idiot, but it seems like someone is telling me that the mazda rotary motor is more capable than a 454 big block...

Well, I thought that I clarified that in my post, but I am speaking with the max mods. I don't care if it runs on whiskey. I am speaking turbos, everything. I just can't believe that the banshee with a smaller motor could be modded more than a 660 block. I just think of 4 cyl hondas vs a muscle car... If you max mod both, the bigger motor always wins... Maybe it doesn't apply in 4 wheeler motors, but that defies all logic...

The banshee can get 200 horse from a triple build (thanks beech). You could probably turbo that right? Then throw a little nitrous into the mix. You would still come up short on the raptor. 660cc is bigger than 350cc yes. You can get 585cc from the banshee with 2 cyliders, more with 3. Then you have to take into consideration the fact that you have a 2 stroke vs a 4 stroke, 2 stokes make 50-75% more power per cc than a 4 stroke, so you would need some mad displacement on a raptor to beat a triple banshee.

As far as these exotic motors, IMO, I don't really think those consitute a "true" Banshee, or Raptor.
Then you are just using a Banshee frame, or a Raptor frame, and calling it a Raptor or Banshee.
Sticking with the stock CCs, or going with the stock number of cylinders, a Raptor is simply not going to beat a Banshee if they are both maxed out.
maddog said you can get 585cc from a 2-cylinder. I am not as familiar with these aftermarket motors. I think the Raptor can be pushed to a 700 something.
Bottom line is, you won't find a Raptor with its (modified base motor) competing with any modified base motor Banshee.
Go to the drags, and the top quads are always the 2-strokes. They simply produce more power cc per cc than the 4-strokes. and that is just a fact of life.
That is why in motocross, the 250 2-strokes are in the same class as the 450 4-strokes. If a 250 4-stroke had to compete with a 250 2-stroke, there would be no competition.
Exactly what all of this has to do with this guys original question about choosing between a YFZ450 and a Banshee, I am not sure.

The three cylinder banshee is a regular banshee bottom end with another banshee cylinder, so its still essentially a banshee motor and not a motor from another machine.
I believe Powroll has 800cc stroker kits which is the largest I've heard of for the rap. The reason you cant add another cylinder is because of the engine design and lack of space. It would be easier to add a cylinder to a polaris parallel twin fourstroke than any single pistoned 4 stroke.
