Gearing Suggestions for Raptor

I believe the gearing you pick also has a lot to do with what other mods you are going to make to it such as the intake restrictions, air filter/box, exhaust, etc.
If you are going to leave it completely stock, then I would think you would want to drop down to a 12 tooth or perhaps even an 11.
If you are going to do the engine mods to get the power up, then the gearing would probably be ok.
Get the power up enough, I bet the raptor could break 100 mph on flat ground with stock gearing.

Anyone considering going to a 11 tooth sprocket should give up the idea. I put on my 12 tooth last night and a ride down the street tells me that I lost significant top speed. An 11 tooth would wrap out at about 45-50 mph. I'm going to the dunes tomorrow to try out the 12 tooth. I'll report back.

The 12 tooth sprocket should bring top speed down to approximately 66.5 mph. The 11 tooth sprocket should bring top speed down to approximately 60.9 mph. Actual results may be slightly faster (+1 to +3 mph) with the smaller sprockets due to the lighter load last gear is pulling. These figures are calculated based on 72 mph top speed with original sprocket in last gear.
