Which is going to win a drag race to top gear, on hardpack dirt, and by how much?

YZ250 vs YFZ450 (both stock).

YZ250 vs Banshee (both stock).

I want to buy a two stroke speedster, and I'm thinking of buying either a YZ250 or a Banshee. I will be selling a four stroke motorcycle in order to make the switch, but I still haven't decided whether to get another motorcycle, or a two stroke ATV. I know how fast the YFZ 450 is, so that gives me something to gauge the two strokes on.

theres no such thing as a stock quad that will beat a yz250....im not sure about heavily modifying though =/ quad may have advantage due to traction and stability

 

in top end a quad could possibly beat a YZ250, but you'd need a really really long straightaway for the quad to catch up.

a bike will flat out kill a quad in a short run, but top speed would be questionable

 

Id say save yourself a few broken bones and go for the banshee

 

man no quad as long as it is close to stock will ever beat a yz250. it may beat it on the top end but it would take forever to pass the yz cause it is already so far ahead. i used to ride a yz250f and there were only a few quads around that could beat me.

Do you know how a YZ250F compares to a WR250F? I have the WR250F now, and that is the four stroke motorcycle that would be sold to purchase the two stroke ATV (or motorcycle).

the differance is the yz250f is a motorcross bike and the other is an ofroad bike. its suspencion and wreight differance.

 

well the YZ250F is a fourstroke race bike and the WR250F is a trail bike. i have never ridden a WR250F so i cant really tell you how they compare.

 

The WR250F is 17 lbs heavier than the YZ250, and it has the same suspension travel, but different valving. I don't know how fast the YZ250F is, but I would suspect the YZ250 is almost twice as fast as a WR250F, because the WR is pretty dang slow. I am quite disappointed in the WR's speed.

 

yeah the YZ250 is wicked fast. the YZ250f is a pretty fast bike but not the fastest.
