Pipe for warrior
#1
I am trying to decide between to pipes for my 99 warrior. I like the new R-series from White Bros and the FmF power core 4 two pipe. which gives ya mid to top end and is quitest? And whats the cheapest i can get it for?? And do i have to put a jet kit on,because i didn't have to for my 250x when i put a pipe on it.

I can't help you decide between the two you mention, as I run a Curtis Sparks with a 4" disc Supertrapp. As to the jet kit, I would say no, however you almost certainly would need to run a fatter main. At least a 147 and possiply a 150, depending on your elev. & other air flow modifications. One reason I like the Supertrapp is because it can be tuned to the part of the band you wish & changed easily. On my Warrior I run 20 discs for top end and a 155 main jet. I'm at 3200"elev so if I were at your assumed elev. , I'm sure I have to run even fatter.
The Curtis Sparks pipe is a fine one, but I hesitate to tout it too much because of a rather lengthy wait time. Curtis is a one-man shop the last I knew, & he's basically an engine builder for GNC riders.

I assume you mean bigger than the stock header?
Very few people make after market head pipes at all for the Warrior due to the already large size of the stock one. FMF makes a header but it is the same diameter as the stock. Since a certain amount of back pressure is necessary for proper valve operation, my understanding is that the stock head pipe is sized to meet that criterion, unlike those of some other brands of quads.
One other thing regarding exhaust pipes /silencers; if you wind up with a tunable silencer like the WB, The number of discs that you run will have a bearing on the noise output, also on the jetting required. The fewer discs= low end & low noise level...adding more discs=alteration of the power band to mid range or top end with increased noise level & fatter main jetting.
