we pulled my dads 2001 warrior out of the shed and started it up and at anything except an idel it backfires. it will idle fine but if u give it gas it back fires and bogs a lil bit. if u turn the chocke on it dies right away. can someone help me. we got 15 inches of snow now and were gona get another 3 or 4 so we want to ride....

sounds lie kthe parking brake is sticking... i know even from sitting they'll stick for no reason..

 

When is the last time you road it? It may be running lean because its so cold out.

 

the last time we road it was 2 weeks ago when we put a armadillo rear rack on it. it was like 5 degreest warmer then and it ran fine then. i was thinkin maby water was in the gas or somethin but its got the same gas as it did 2 weeks ago.... ill check out the parking brake thing. its like the timing isnt advancing. it runs like when u have a car with a distributer cap and the points get wet.... i dont know anything about timing on atvs or anything

 

Is it warmed up? I know it sounds stupid but since its so cold you have to let them warm up good before you try to romp on it, you can try screwing with the idle screw to get it to idle good.

 

It sounds like the parking brake to me too.
