Just got off the phone with my dealer. He agreed that there must have been something wrong with the A-arm to cause it to fold like that and said to bring it down on Monday and that they would take care of it.

bash... make sure that they give you new grips and all of the other stuff that got trashed because of the roll over. They are obligated to do that too!

Yep, helmet was on. Although I don't always wear it when just putting around in the yard giving my daughter or wife a ride, I always wear it if I'm by myself.

The dealer acted like everything damaged do to the failing a-arm would be replaced.

I think that it was just a fluke, bash. I weigh about 200 and I was out all day today hammering up and down a 100 foot whoop section with no problem what so ever. Man this raptor is sweet.

No wonder these A-arms fail... look at this picture of Yamaha's arm next to a Raptor race arm. http://www.atvconnection.com/atvconn...ercompare1.jpg

That sux man. I dont understand why it would bend like that. Most of the forces on the front end are on the bottom a-arm and the upper shock mount not the upper a-arm. The upper a-arm just supports the spindle and isn't under much load.

There must be a bad batch or something. I rode all day jumping and pounding whoops. No trouble at all, and i am no lightweight as you can see from the pics on my site 6'3" 280. I got some good pics, which should be up in the morning. I should have video by the middle of next week.

Yes, as has been mentioned, these upper A-arms shouldn't have to be very strong. To illustrate my point, I took a piece of 1" aluminum angle and cut about a 4.5" section of it. I then drilled 2 holes through it and through my bad A-arm after straightening it back out (it is only holding on one side, the other side is gapped open where it bent), I then fastened it to my bent/broke a arm as a splint of sorts.

I didn't do any jumping or anything like that, but it held up just fine for moderate riding. My A-arm and the one that broke mentioned in a previous thread must have had some critical flaw in it that made it extremely week. I'd say that it would have to be so weak, that if you have one and it has the problem, it will break within the first few hours of riding. If it doesn't manifest itself early, you will probably be fine without ever having any problems.
