Default Good, Cheap, Easy Mods for Warrior

I know about the K & N air filter, which i am getting soon.

What other mods should i get? I know i need tires.. but which ones?

What is a jet kit and where does it go?

Post answers and ideas here about what i should do.

Rip off the airbox lid, install the filter and rejet. You should go with the clamp on pro design foam filter for trail riding, it won't clog in mud/water or really dusty conditions. If you drag against someone with the same mods you'll see just having the k&n makes almost no difference either. You should also drill several holes in the lower left side of the airbox, that'll help the top end. Nothing else is cheap really, just save some loot.

Get a precharger for your K&N or do an outerwears/precharger mod to your box if you want to do trail riding and increase your air flow.

Jet kit is exactley that..a Jet Kit..meaning that you get all the jets for your carberator..worthless unless you own 4 different carbs on different machines.

If performance is your vice..simply carving up the top of your airbox into two pieces..one front and one back to hold the filter in place take the baffle out of your exhaust, and do a rejet for youe increased airflow will give you a 1-2 hp improvement.

Also take off those ugly black mudflaps..click on my pics to see what they look like after you give it a shave.

Without opening the airbox and putting a better breathing filter or pipe on jetting will serve no purpose. If you don't know how to jet when you do those mods than get the jet kit, otherwise just get the specific jets you need. A single jet will run a couple bucks while the kits are from 30 to 50 bucks most of the time. With a filter, open airbox, and pipe you'll run much leaner from the huge increase of airflow, which isn't good to let run that way...

Well even the jet kits are wrong most the time with the jet size they recommend. Jet kits also come with a better needle & tell you certain parts in your carburetor that you can discard (like that dumb *** plastic disc around the main jet). If you do not know what you are doing I do not recommend attempting this by yourself. If you dump too much fuel into the motor you can wash out your rings and if you run her to lean you can burn your motor up pretty much - not cool stuff. The prechargers protect the motor more from very tiny grit (dusty conditions such as dry dirt in the summer time) that get in past the K&N filter and f00k your motor up.
