Default How Do I Adjust My Timing?

I thought i blew my top end so i bought a weisco piston. It ended up just being a spark plug. But anyway, after i put my piston in, i ended up messing up my timing. I heard from acouple people how to reset it, but its not really working, its still not starting. i was just wondering if anyone know if theres something i can do to reset it without bringing it to yamaha or a shop because shops take to long.

i dunno how u can mess up the timing...cuz on quads there gears not chains like a car, with the car u gotta adjust the sprocket and line it up with a tick on the side of the case, not sure about quads though

You probably got the timing off by installing the timing chain incorrect. There is a free Raptor maintenance manual all over the net in PDF form. It's about 10 megs....shoot me a PM with your Email addy and I will send it to you. The PM option is used by picking the "lock" item at the top right of every post. If you cannot recieve large files, I can break the timing process down for you here.
