Default buying flex hone

i am about to puchase a flex hone so when i do a top end job on my raptor i will be able to clean the cylinder up myself. i talk to a guy at the local machine shop said for beginners that i should go ahead and a get a flex hone instead of a stone hone. he said he didnt know if they made 100mm flex hones, but knew for sure they made a 101mm flex hone, and that using the 101mm would be ok. can some clear this up....will the 101mm be ok on the 100mm bore? also if someone knows where to purchase a 100mm hone, this would solve everything
thanks
John

The hone is designed so that it holds the stones outward against the walls of the cylinder. Using a larger hone on a smaller cylinder just makes the hone press a little harder on the cylinder walls but as long as you are using a fine stone you should be fine using a 101 mm on a 100 mm cylinder.
