what are the common problems in a banshee
#2
well i haven't heard any bad reports about things breaking on the banshee, it's been around since 87 so Yamaha probably has every last bug they ever had worked out of it. also it's a 2 stroke so it must be rebuilt more often than a 4 stroke but 2 strokes are CHEAPER to rebuild and easier too. also do your periodic maintaince such as remember to grease fittings all over the quad, check the bolts and nuts at least once a week if you ride hard, air pressure, keep filter clean, clean plugs at least weekly if you ride a good bit unless you foul them a whole lot, oil the throttle and clutch cables up every now and then, check brake fluid, you know the normal things.
the only problem i can think of with the banshee is when you blow it up or something in the engine goes wrong, you have to buy 2 of everything pretty much, i love banshees they are wicked fast when modded and i plan on getting one in a couple of weeks and if the banshee had a whole lot of problems i wouldn't be getting one.
peace out

You can also buy an aftermarket water impeller to replace the stock plastic one which will help with overheating. Another minor problem is when you do a few things to it like pipes and porting they can become a little harder to shift under power. This is easily fixed my modding the shift star.

Its not really a problem but It wish they had Brighter ligths. I got a new stater for my other Banshee and added 55 watt bulbs and that works great. tahts just a few watts abouve stock

Need some help on diagnosing my bike. Having issues which I know is part of owning a banshee. I am new to this and my first banshee. Ok I had rings replaced on pistons due to low compression. It ran for about a week and right side went cold. I was thinking spark plug so I replaced both plugs and it fired up. Ran it for a an hour now it won’t start or idle. I’m getting spark cause it starts but just won’t stay running. Please anything would help to get this awesome bike running again. Thanks
