Default blaster question?

I was wondering if taking the airbox lid off my blaster would reck my engine, because some people say to take completly off, i have drilled a couple of holes in it. I was just curious. And also will taking the packing out of fmf silencer wreck my engine by not creating enough back pressure.? Thanks...

Default blaster question?

Any time you start changing the intake or exhaust on a 2 stroke engine you have to make sure that your carb is jetted properly, taking the lid off your airbox is pretty mild but if you were lean to begin with then yea, it could be a problem. Pull your spark plug and look at it, if it's a real light grey then you should put a larger main jet in. If it's black then your still rich, somewhere in the middle is just right.
