Default 26" Mud Lites on an '05 Kodiak 450?

The comment about going to the 27" tire for deeper tread depth is not true. Until recently, the 26" tires are available as XL's which have a 1 1/8" depth tread. New this year, ITP introduced the 25" Mudlites XL also with 1 1/8" treads. I have a set of them (25x8x12 and 25x10x12) on my stock 2001 grizzly rims. I did notice a slight power loss on the 600 with the deeper tread. With the stock rims, the tires do not stick out from the wheel well any further. The tires are alittle rougher than stock on hard pack, but the traction in the snow and mud is nice. These tires tend to dig more in snow where as the stock tires "floated" better. Anyhow, that's my experience.

not sure about the mudlites being wider and throwing mud, but I can tell you that rims and tires off a grizzly will fine on the kodiak , it will put it out about 3 inch wider and that thing will throw dirt /mud after a rain 40-50 feet high in the air , creating a rain fall or should I say mud fall behind you , it is like a curtain of little mudletts falling from the sky.....it's pretty cool to watch
