Main Jets vs Needle Setting
#1
I had my Raptor set up with the Dynojet needle on the 4th groove and 155/160 Mikuni main jets. I was amazed with the ease of 3rd gear throttle wheelies, but I wanted to make sure I was not too lean (even though the plug was not white) so I bumped the mains up to 160/165. The torque didn't seem to be there like before so I placed the needle on the 3rd groove. It seemed to get better but not quite as good as the original.
Should I move to the 2nd groove?
BTW, I haven't changed my pilot jets yet, I'm also considering that this would help get that low RPM torque back. I know I'm lean at the closed throttle position, just waiting to get new pilots.
Setup:
Stock
Full Yoshi
Airbox eliminated, dual UNI's
Thanks in advance.

the problem is verifying that I'm a bit rich when WOT meaning (12:1 to 13:1). From another forum, the raptor likes being a bit rich at WOT and a bit leaner (13:1 to 14.5:1) from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.

160/165? i ran 165/170 wheni had my yoshi. 25 pilots 2 5/8 left 2 7/8 right (turnS) and i had my stock box with the pro flow and k&n no lid. if i had that i would run 170/ 175. right no i have 167.5 and 172.5 mains buti have a duncan pipe now, runs good exepth that im haveing some trouble with keeping the carbs supplied with gas.. this was with gytr needles. dynojets are thinner needles. if you run 160/ 165 DJ mains you shoudl be good
