What does it mean when the rev. light blinks? I rode my bike for a few hours and had it running in nuetral and it started blinking for about 15 sec.

 

Where your shift linkage connects to the tranny, their is a black wire(NOT THE WIRE THAT IS HELD ON BY A SCREW), its the wire that you can simply pull off. It is either loose or dirty, you have sand, mud, dirt or something in their to make those symptoms. Mine gets sand in it about once a year. pull it off and clean the bad connection(inside) and clean the plug where it goes into the tranny.

 

If the light begins blinking while she is sitting still, in nuetral, it means your idle is too high.
Back the idle down and it will stop blinking.

 

When you rev above something like 3500 rpms for something like 15 seconds the light will start blinking. Either your idle is too high, like was said, or you need to stop revving up and playing with the throttle.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Yea now that you mention it, the ol' led thumb was being kinda trigger happy...

 

mine does this from time to time mainy when im climbing hills with the revs up.
