ive been researching the yfz for some time now
and the two biggest complaints that i havent found fixes for
are the battery problem and the front shoks being too stiff
i get the battery problem but whats with the shocks?
can you fix these problems or will it cost some major dough

yeah well it doesnt pay worth squat but it's fun.
and since one of my hats is quality control, I get to ride ALL the new stuff before it goes out or into the showroom, not bad hehe.
Plus I'm the chief cook and bottle washer, I guess I'm having a good time. pay stinks tho, prob just here I hope. Industry wide would be a disaster.

If you guys have questions I can ask the techs at work - so feel free to ask a question and i'll pas it along, its not a problem!

the shocks are fine!!!!!!!!!! in 2004 they were alittle stiffer than the 2005s. but hte revalved them and they are fine everyone complains about the battery but its never happended to me. somesay the seat is hard. you don't even think about it when your riding it. the only thing i noticed was the thumb throtal. it was alittle stiff but in about 2 weeks of riding i built my thumb up and it was fine.

I heard that the front shocks are so good that alot of guys are buying them off of ebay and putting them on their Raptors...with a little beating and grinding they apperently work VERY well on the beast.

I have YFZ shox on my raptor!!!! they do work very well!

The YFZ is a MX quad and that means people jump it high and far in air. So when you land the *stiff* shocks absorb the fall. If pu$$ys complain about the firm shocks then they dont have the ***** enough to jump there YFZ!

My Raptor with stock shocks really bottoms easily. My YFZ however will take a much bigger jump without bottoming. Downside is that the YFZ rides fairly stiff, but there is some adjustability in the shocks.

Now I rode with a guy who had a YFZ with long travel a arms and TCS shocks and on long jumps that I landed as if dropped out of an airplane he landed smooth as silk, so there is room for improvement.

The battery issue was said to be in the very early 04 models, with an overcharging problem, but personally I've never known anyone who had a problem so if there really was one they nipped it in the bud.
