lucky you... getting a grizz. lol. well, probably a 26 or a 25. probably just keep the stock tire size. i have the itp 589, but those are for like big mud bogging. this page right here has a good selection of mud/ trail riding tires. also, they are a lot cheaper than other sites. atv tire site.

awesome quad. i got a 05 Special Edition, got only about 150 milies on it. I have 27 inch mudlites on C-Series Type 5 . very nice tire for the quad..i do not have any problems. The only thing i had to do was trim the rear plastic so the tires would not rub if i hit a big bump.

If you need an idea on what 26's will look like, check out my photo gallery.
To reply to your question, your best bet would be to stay away from the ITP 589's, Mudzilla's or anything else overly agressive. I am currently trying to get rid of mine because they are too hard on drivetrains (ANY quad not just Grizzly's).
If it's not too late, try not to get a black Grizzly. They show marks even before you ride it the first time!

I just became a 2 Grizzly family. I have or should I say "had" a 04 griz, but since I have been in Afghanistan, my wife claimed it. i just went home for my 6 month break and bought a 05 Griz in Hardwood camo. I also ordered 26" Dirt Devils for both quads and ITP (black) C series for mine and black ITP steel for hers. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to ride it before I had to come back. I'll post pics when my wife sends them to me.
As far as your question goes, the stock tires are the worst ATV tire I have ever seen. I know when it comes to the Dirt Devil and the Mud Light, the 26" is 6 ply and has a more agressive tread where the 25" I believe is only 4 ply and a shorter tread. If you're going to buy tires I would suggest going to a 26".

If your in some mud and not just straight up bogging it constantly, you could stay with a 25" or maybe move up to a 26" tire and be just fine to do very good in both wet and dry. Just stay clear of a true mud tire like a Vampire or Outlaw or something. They won't be as good on the trails, and I assume thats where you will spend the majority of your time. As far as a tire that does pretty good in both areas, the list is huge.
ITP/Titan 589's, Maxxis Bighorn Radial, Goodyear Mudrunner, Dirt Devil XT, ITP Mudlite, and of course a few more. Gators and Mudbugs are a little more on the mud side of things, but will have better trail manners than an Outlaw or Mudzilla. Bear Claws, Sur Traks, 489's, Holeshot ATR's, Dirt Devils, and such won't be as good in mud, but will excell on trails.
