Default Oil Change Time :)

Hey all! i checked my oil yesterday, and it was below the Empty Mark So i added some car oil that i had laying around untill i had time to get the right oil. Now i got the 10-30W YammaLube Oil, and was wondering if i have to change the filter? does it really matter? or can i just drain the tank and engine and re-fill... I was going to get an oil filter, but my Local Stealership (thomas Powersports) wanted 28$ For a filter er!!! Thanks for any help! In my owners manual it gives fluid amounts for oil changes when you change your oil with or without an oil filter change. So i guess it is possible but i would not recommend leaving an old oil filter in there. If you don't want to buy a factory oil filter go to an autoparts store and try to cross reference the oil filter with a different brand. Mine is 12 bucks to replace but got on ebay and got 5 k&n oil filters for 25 bucks so if you look there will be cheaper replacements,

besides; I would rather spend that amount for an filter rather than the $$$ for a rebuild
